Actuation
Open, close, and control.
Pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic actuators for control valves and on/off valves, with the accessories that connect them to your control system. Send the valve and the service and we'll review suitable options. Bettis pneumatic and electric actuators, shown here, are one example of the equipment we supply.
What we supply.
Pneumatic actuators
Scotch yoke, rack and pinion, and diaphragm actuators, spring-return or double-acting, for quarter-turn and linear valves.
Electric actuators
Multi-turn and quarter-turn electric actuators for on/off and modulating service where power is available and instrument air is not.
Hydraulic and electro-hydraulic
High-torque actuation for large valves, high pressures, and remote sites such as pipeline stations.
Controls and accessories
Positioners, solenoid valves, limit switch boxes, manual overrides, and mounting kits.
Control valves or on/off valves.
Control valves
Modulating service holds pressure, flow, or level. We look at the control signal, positioner, stroke resolution, speed, and the duty rating the actuator needs to keep up.
On/off and shutdown valves
Isolation and emergency shutdown service depends on reliable full strokes. We look at fail-safe action, stroke time, torque margin, solenoids, limit switches, and any partial-stroke or SIL requirements.
What to have ready.
Send what you know. If something is missing, we'll ask.
Valve type, size, and pressure class
Required torque or thrust, if known
On/off or modulating service
Fail position: open, closed, or last
Supply air pressure or available power
Control signal and position feedback
Required stroke time
Hazardous area classification and site conditions
Tell us what you need.
Share the valve, the service, and how it is controlled. We'll review suitable actuation options and come back with a recommendation and a quote.
